Cone 5. Pieces cast with No. 1 Porcelain Slip fire to the translucency of fine porcelain. Its working qualities make it quite flexible: easy to cast, releases easily from molds and patches well when necessary. No. 1 Slip is especially preferable in doll making.
Recommended firing temperature is Cone 5 (2205°F, 1207°C), however in special cases, such as firing small flat lithophanes, the firing temperature may increase to Cone 6 (2269°F, 1243°C). Shrinkage at Cone 6 is 11.75% and absorption is 0%.

This white, earthenware liquid casting slip is ready for pouring into plaster molds. Casts set up quickly and release easily. The strong cast shapes dry quickly, and there is practically no loss. Shrinkage at Cone 05 is 6% and absorption 14.6%.

Cone 06-05.AMACO® Indian Red Casting Slip has a rich red color before and after firing. This red casting slip is formulated to fire at Cone 05, but can be fired up to Cone 02. The rich red color deepens the higher you fire it, giving you a great terra cotta look in whatever you're casting, from kitchen ware to wine coolers.
Many transparent and all opalescent glazes are enriched by the red colored clay. Shrinkage at Cone 06 is 7% and absorption is 11.7%.
